Great News! Hoppers Bluff Community the leak has been located. Repairs are starting now. Thank you!!
For our customers in Hoppers Bluff, Squirrel Lane, and Whipporwill. Technicians are searching again today for the leak. We appreciate The Hoppers Bluff Community for the support given to the utility and the community.
The lower end of Hoppers Bluff, Squirrel Lane and Whipperwill continue to have no water. The technicians will be back in the morning to continue searching for the leak. We apologize to these customers for the time it is taking to discover this leak. Thank you for the support which has been given to the technicians we appreciate your kindness.
Technicians are at the Hoppers Bluff Community continuing with repairs. Again, if you live in this area you should see several utility trucks and heavy equipment. Please use caution. For those who may need bottled water it is available please call 865-696-2512 to make arrangements. Thank you!
Unfortunately, some of our customers in the Hoppers Bluff community are still without water. Currently technicians are in the area making repairs to the section of line that provides water to Whipperwill, Squirrel Lane and the lower portion of Hopper Bluff. Thank you!
Repairs are now completed on Hoppers Bluff. You may experience air in your lines which will take time to be forced out. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we tried to find a leak which wasn't coming to the surface but going underground. We had some amazing help from our neighbors at the City of Rutledge we are grateful for their kindness and willingness to help. Also, thank you to the customers who brought water and snacks to our technicians who worked some very long hours over the last few days.
For Our customers from Hoppers Bluff to Hwy 92. You may experience a drop in water pressure today as the Utility will be turning the water valve off and on going into Hoppers Bluff. They are using an ultra-sonic wave detection device and they need water going through the lines to detect the exact location of the leak. Please use caution as several utility trucks and heavy equipment will be in area. If any customer needs bottled water, please contact the emergency after hours number at 865-696-2512. Thank you!
Water has been restored to most areas of Lakeshore Road. Please be advised the lines were completely dewatered and it will take some time to fill the lines up. You may experience air in the lines and air release valves are being used to help with this issue. Currently Hoppers Bluff remains without water service. Technicians will be back out to this area in the morning. Again, thank you for your cooperation as we continue to resolve this matter. If you need bottled water, it will be available at Bean Station Utility District Business Office from 8:00-12:00 on Saturday August 9, 2025.
